When Josh Jacobs first entered the NFL, the former Alabama standout carried with him the mindset of a perpetual winner. "Coming from Alabama, I went to a championship every year I was there. I remember coming to the league and losing my first game, and I was mad and not talking to nobody," Jacobs shared candidly. He quickly realized that the NFL presented a different challenge. "A vet came up to me and was like, 'This is the NFL. You're going to lose.' I'm like, 'So ya'll cool with losing?' It was so different."
During his tenure with the Raiders, Jacobs made a significant mark, earning two Pro Bowl nods and even securing a rushing title. Yet the frustration of underperforming seasons lingered, particularly because the team boasted high-caliber talent in players like Davante Adams and Maxx Crosby. "Then, the most frustrating thing about it all, you've got me, and Tae (Davante Adams) and Maxx (Crosby), you've got guys who come in every day and work hard, and you don't get the results," Jacobs remarked. "You'll be close every year, but (we're) not winning. You want me to come back on a discount and lose? I don't know how I feel about that."
Jacobs's growing disillusionment with the Raiders eventually reached a tipping point, culminating in his decision to leave in free agency. The Green Bay Packers emerged as his new home, a franchise known for its recent success, averaging 11.2 wins per season over the past five years and making four playoff appearances. The Packers' resilience was on full display last season when they rallied from a 3-6 start to make it to the divisional round, even pulling off a wild-card round upset against the Dallas Cowboys.
For Jacobs, the move to Green Bay symbolizes not only a fresh start but a renewed sense of purpose. "I honestly think the sky is the limit in this offense," Jacobs said, already envisioning the potential that awaits him. He highlighted the presence of quarterback Jordan Love, a well-regarded offensive line, and a talented receiving corps as key components that make him optimistic. "Obviously, with having a special guy in Jordan Love, you know, and having a good offensive line and some good receivers out there makes it a lot easier for me," he added. "But just to be able to see the game plan and things that they want me to do this year, the things that they're allowing me to do, I just think it's going to be a special year."
Jacobs's faith in the Packers' offense isn't misplaced. Under the guidance of their coaching staff, the Packers have consistently developed game plans that leverage their roster's strengths. With Jacobs now in the mix, Green Bay's already potent attack gets even stronger. His dual-threat ability to both ground the ball and catch passes out of the backfield provides a versatile weapon for the Packers and a potential nightmare for opposing defenses.

"Just to be able to see the game plan and things that they want me to do this year, the things that they're allowing me to do, I just think it's going to be a special year," Jacobs reiterated, confident in the opportunities that lie ahead.
